An aging man with grey hair and moustache, the Head wears a navy blue suit with a drab orange tie. He wears a pair of small rimless spectacles and speaks with an Australian or Kiwi accent.
He is known to run the Institute of Interglyco Genetics and is a friend of Margaret's Dad.

- As it seems something of a coincidence that the Head of the Institute of Interglyco Genetics was coming for dinner on the night that Margaret needed to do a school report on the subject, it seems likely that she had her parents arrange the dinner in order to do well in her essay.
- Interglyco Genetics involves the study of hereditary characteristics passed on from generation to generation.
