Horrid Henry is a British animated television series based on the Horrid Henry books written by Francesca Simon was commissioned in 2005 and began in late 2006 consisting of five series of 52 episodes (except for Series 5, which has 42 episodes), broadcast on the ITV's sister channel, CiTV. Many of the episodes associate with Plotlines similar to those of the book edition. The series was produced by British company Novel and Canadian company Nelvana.
The first series finished in November 2007, although reruns continued to air. In December 2008, a new second series began production, which eventually began airing on 16 February 2009. Two new episodes aired in the Summer of 2011 in the run-up to the live-action movie, and the third series started airing regularly on the 3 September 2011 and finished on 1 September 2012.
The fourth series began airing on 11 October 2014 and finished airing on 25 October 2015. And finally, the fifth series began to air on 15 December 2018 and finally finished on 17 May 2019.
The show's early seasons received critical acclaim for their script, humour and exciting feel. However, the later seasons were criticised for a perceived decline in quality, mainly due to the show's tonal shift to a slower pace and less comedic script.

Horrid Henry aired on CITV UK from 31 October 2006-Early 2019. Then the show moved to Nickelodeon UK and Nicktoons UK with Nicktoons UK doing an event called Horrid Half-Term during Mid 2018. Then, during Late 2019, Nicktoons UK started premiering Season 5 episodes and the premiere of Horrid Henry: The Movie (2011) on the channel, although Season 5 was the final season of the show and they already aired all the episodes of Season 5 on CITV, so they have probably re-premiered Season 5 episodes, so they want us to think that the show still has new episodes airing today. During sometime in 2019, Horrid Henry started airing on Nickelodeon UK and it was still airing on Nicktoons UK. During late 2020, Nicktoons UK stopped premiering season 5 episodes of the show as Nickelodeon UK did the brand new episodes event during that time of the year; along with the premiere of Horrid Henry's Wild Weekend on the channel. Then, during the Half-Term Heroes Event in Early 2021, the show had done its final premiere week.
