"Horrid Henry Tidies Up" is the fifty-second and final episode in Series 1 and the 52nd episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Although he's never been very good at tidying up, Henry finds that there are all sorts of ways to get things done - with a bit of planning and pranking!

Plot[]

The episode starts with Mum entering Henry's room, complaining about why he's so untidy, but Henry doesn't hear Mum since he's wearing his headphones. Upon her seeing this, she takes the headphones off Henry's head, and asks why he can't be more like Peter. Henry tells Mum that he's a "smelly nappy baby", Mum then drags Henry to Peter's room where he's playing his cello, and tells him that today will be the day Henry makes his room tidy now but he yells, ‘NOOOOO!!!’, opening the title card.

In the living room, Mum made a competition for the boy who has tidiest bedroom, and gets the most stars, the two brothers will choose a restaurant for a Saturday night treat. Henry's choice is Gobble & Go, while Peter's choice is Virtuous Veggie. The two then get into a wresting match while trying to run out of the living room door as Mum watches them.

On Monday, Henry decided to shove all his toys in his closet, while using his trouser belt to keep it shut. Fang laughs, but Henry is feeling pleased about it. Meanwhile, Peter was dusting his room, and when he picked up a picture of his family, he scribbles over Henry's face (implying Peter doesn't like Henry). Mum comes in the living room, seeing Henry watching TV. While inspecting Henry's room, Mum notices Henry's belt on his closet handles. Mum undoes it, and all of Henry's stuff cascades out over Mum. Henry's now busted, and because he used his trouser belt to keep the closet closed, his trousers fall down, with Peter laughing sneakily in the background.

Peter has got the first star on the chart making Henry angry. He turns into a Gorilla and scares him out of the kitchen until Mum, while washing the dishes, tells him not to be horrid and he returns to normal.

On Tuesday, Henry's room looks promising at the end, just a rubbish ball. Mum is proud of how Peter's keeping his room neat and tidy. When Mum came into Henry's room, although the room looked very tidy, she noticed a disgusting smell. She peeks under Henry's bed, and see an old pizza box. Henry wasn't pleased as Mum takes away the pizza box, knowing he won't be getting a star.

On Wednesday, Mum was out in the backyard, reading a book. Just then, Henry came out with his washed curtains. Mum was proud of Henry for washing and hanging up his bedroom curtains. As Henry was smiling at Mum with a halo above his head, he saw Peter in his room, causing Henry to become curious. He runs up to his room, only to see Peter vacuuming his room (which is cheating). As Peter states his side of the story, Mum points to Henry's mud tracks on the carpet. This made Henry really frustrated, as Peter chuckles at him.

On Thursday, Henry decides to try and make Peter's room unperfect by causing one of his paintings to become unlevel from the wall. Worse for Henry is that Peter noticed immediately after hearing a thud (which strangely, Mum didn't even hear despite being in the room with Peter), and fixed his painting. Double-worse is that when Henry shuts his bedroom door, his shelve above his bed collapses. Henry then sinks to the ground in disbelief.

On Friday, Jolly Josh came over to play, and decided to have a chat with Henry about the contest Mum set up for him and Peter. Josh was on Henry's side and decided to give Henry a sneaky trick to make Peter lose. When Josh left, Mum was proud of Henry's room and decides to give him one star, but Henry was still disappointed as he would still lose to Peter. When Mum was walking to Peter's room, Henry grabbed a fishing line from his bed, and starts winding it up. It turns out Henry tied the fishing line to Peter's stuff in his room, causing everything to collapse in the process. Peter was now going to lose stars, as Henry is now happy with his stunt. In the end, Henry won the contest.

Although Henry hoped that it was his favourite restaurant Gobble & Go, it's gone because it's been replaced by Virtuous Veggie, Peter's favourite restaurant. To Henry's dismay, he screamed 'Noooo!!!', ending the episode.
