"Horrid Henry and the Scary Scooter" is the twenty-second episode in Series 3 and the 126th episode overall.

Synopsis[]

At last, Henry has got himself a scooter. He thinks it is the best thing ever but soon finds that everything is not all that it seems.

Plot[]

The episode begins with a white limo parking at a pouch. Rich Aunt Ruby, Stuck-Up Steve and the driver, Eustacious walked to Henry's front door. Mum answers it, and they bring a box of toys, and Eustactious gives to her while helping to carry it inside as Ruby tells him to leave it twice. They set off in their limo without staying for a cup of tea. Peter looks through the box, and Henry shows up then says 'Useless Eustaicous' but Mum tells him not to be horrid.

Peter takes a stuffed elephant upstairs, while Henry takes all the other toys out of the box and finds a scooter then shows it to the audience despite Mum telling to tidy up which he will do in a minute. But then Mum takes the scooter away and orders him to tidy up the mess now, and Henry screams, 'Noooo!!!', opening the title card.

Back to the scene, Henry tidies up all the toys while talking to Rude Ralph on the phone saying to meet him at the park after tea. Henry picks a number gnome thinking Steve still plays it and puts in the box then cheers while saying 'I've got wheels'.

Henry quickly finishes his tea. Peter was playing the number gnome giving it baked bean, then Henry said, 'Number One Nappy Number Gnomes.' Peter tells him not to be horrid. Henry tells Mum that he's going to try his new/old scooter. Mum told him to stay out of trouble otherwise it'll be his old/new/old scooter. Henry asked if that makes any sense as he slams the door on the way out, and Mum said it does. Peter tells his Number Gnome not to worry about Henry.

Henry rides his scooter into the park and meets up with Ralph but has trouble riding it. The boys scoot off as Parky blows his whistle. Brainy Brian was reading a book, and when Henry was heading towards him, Brian stops him with his book. Brian tells Henry and Ralph he's reading a book about 'The Scooter of Doom'. Brian heads off, while Henry and Ralph continued scooting when Henry scoots over the flower bed and has trouble moving it, and Parky keeps blowing his whistle.

Henry successfully moves his scooter off, but then he and Parky looked down at the flower bed. Parky blows his whistle, and the boys scooted away. Ralph scoots away and Henry tries again, but he heads for the old lady and her dog. She moves out of the way, and Henry crashes into the trash can knocking it down. The old lady calls Henry 'A Ragamuffin', and the dog pees on his scooter. Mum calls Henry to come inside the house now and he leaves the scooter behind as the lady walks away with her dog.

Henry was in bed reading his comic when Dad comes in saying 'Bedtime', but Henry asked him about something that could be haunted and might get you in trouble. Dad asked he means a briefcase or pen. Dad told Henry that he had a pen once and got him in trouble and took Mum ages to get it out but doesn't think it's haunted. Dad turns the light off, and Henry along with Fang goes to sleep , but then he has a nightmare that his scooter is haunted, and he looks out of the window and sees it glowing.

The next day, Henry and Ralph hid his scooter behind the trash can, then Mrs Battle-Axe taps him, making him fall and knock it down. The boys head off, but then Mrs Battle-Axe gives Henry his scooter back, and he screams, 'Noooo!!!'. During library time, Brian is reading a book in the stacks while Wheely Walter is on the computer and duty. Just then, Henry appears and told Brian that he needs his help with 'The Scooter of Doom'. Then Wheely Walter scolds at Brian and lets him off just this once but he doesn't see Henry. Brian drops his book and goes with Henry, while Walter turns around to only see the book on the floor.

In the last scene, Brian told Henry the solution is to pass the scary scooter onto someone else. The boys see and hear someone coming, it was Moody Margaret singing. She notices the scooter, reads the note and takes it. After their plan worked, Henry thanks Brian for his help. As Brian leaves, Henry was about to enter his house when he sees Margaret riding the scooter singing. Henry was surprised to see the scooter actually works. Margaret told him it does because her Dad took the stone out of the wheel and scoots away. Henry then screams, 'Noooo!!!', ending the episode.
